Regeneration of Grade II listed park and waterways back into use for leisure and tourism purposes, with consequent economic benefit.

Restoring the park and gardens to facilitate training, skills and volunteering opportunities that represent much needed social investment in Gt Yarmouth.

To provide an economically viable legacy for the local community, visitors and tourists, based on an important heritage element of the towns seafront.

A celebration to mark the grand opening of the restored Venetian Waterways and Boating Lake was held on 20 August 2019.

OutComes:

– Enhancing Great Yarmouth’s tourism offer, driving increases in overall visitor spend and inward investment
– New jobs created, including: 1 full-time Project Coordinator, 2 full-time Gardeners, 1 seasonal Waterways Manager and 2 part-time season Waterways Assistants
– New apprenticeships, traineeships and volunteering opportunities, including: 1 Horticultural Apprenticeship, 20 formal traineeships (10 Horticultural, 10 Traditional Building) and up to 30 volunteering opportunities at any one time
– A newly revitalised outdoor space for both the residents and visitors of Great Yarmouth and will promote heritage engagement, outdoor activity and wellbeing
