European Social Fund

The European Social Fund (ESF) focuses on skills and training, and providing employability support to help people facing barriers to securing work.

New Anglia LEP has secured over £40m for investment into projects in Suffolk and Norfolk from the European Social Fund (ESF) from 2015 to 2023.

Success to date:

£25m of projects contracted, with further projects due to go live in 2020.

15,000 individuals due to receive employability or training support

The European Investment Strategy sets out the programme priorities, and shows how they link to the Norfolk and Suffolk Economic Strategy.

The ESF programme funds packages of support or training. The New Anglia Growth Hub, supported by ERDF, can signpost to training opportunities.   The Job Centre can help signpost to employability support.

There are unlikely to be further opportunities to bid for funding from this programme, although some funding may be awarded to current projects to deliver further activity as part of the economic response to Covid-19.
