Youth Pledge for Employers (YPfE) is all about engaging with small and medium sized businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk to generate job inspiration events, work experience and employment opportunities for 16-24-year-olds.

Employers can find it challenging to engage with young people. And some young people aren’t sure what the world of work is really like. YPfE has a team of four Business Connectors working across Norfolk and Suffolk to help employers show young people what work is all about. Our Business Connectors are trained to help employers identify opportunities which fit with their business goals, and with the time and resources available to offer to young people.

With an hour to spare employers could give a talk, if there is more time available, they could offer work experience. YPfE helps employers to give what they can to support young people. Some businesses are interested in finding out more about apprenticeships, work trials or how to employ young people, and our team can signpost employers to the help they need.
Using the brilliant www.icanbea.org site, Business Connectors create pages for employers to advertise their opportunities to young people and their families. Pages can include video, images and text, giving businesses the opportunity to showcase their organisation and inform and inspire young people about the world of work.

With Norfolk County Council acting as lead delivery partner to Suffolk County Council and The Mason Trust, the team are working closely with the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership to bring a collaborative, inclusive approach to supporting employers to engage young people with the world of work.
