RYPE is a distinct Youth Pledge pilot project for rural areas of New Anglia, focusing initially on the market towns across Suffolk and those bordering Norfolk.
It aims to transform the employment opportunities for unemployed young people; those furthest from the labour market; those with fewer qualifications; and those left behind.
The projects’ customer journey is also mapped against DWPs’ Claimant journey, working through a programme of core activities; English, Maths & Study Skills, Conservation & Volunteering, Sport & Wellbeing, Creative Media & ICT, Society, Culture & Behaviour.
The learners will take part in a developmental process involving confidence building, character strengths development, and social integration activities
RYPE will further add value by providing additional support through a series of interventions involving film, additional qualifications, careers mentoring, and experiential ecological trips to develop social skills, raise awareness about sustainability, and build confidence.
See https://www.wsc.ac.uk/about-the-college/place-21 for videos capturing previous project activity and links to other PLACE 21 projects.
