NASCENT 2.2 is all about bringing SMEs closer to the ‘training table’, encouraging them to get involved in influencing the curriculum.  It will focus on developing strong relationships with business networks across East Anglia, especially those involving SMEs and micro businesses
The word NASCENT suggests something emerging.  It means “in the earliest stages of development”, according to the Cambridge English Dictionary.  In this project NASCENT is also an acronym:  it stands for New Anglia Skills Convergence Enterprise Network for Training.  That’s quite a mouthful!  But the words imply that this is something for the New Anglia region, and it involves a convergence of skills (from the classroom to the workplace); and it encompasses the idea of Enterprise and training.
The project is closely aligned with NASCENT 2.1 and also links to the RYPE project.
Meeting with local businesses and business networks, promoting the Youth Pledge and ensuring that future labour force needs are met through the education system, are all part of the NASCENT 2.2 focus.
See https://www.wsc.ac.uk/about-the-college/place-21/skills-convergence-in-action for videos capturing project activity. NASCENT will build upon this solid platform. If you are interested in finding out more please email:  [email protected]
