A delegation of leading tech companies showcased our region’s fast-growing sector at Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, the world’s largest connectivity event.
Urban XR, EchoPay, Liquid 11, Coderus, 3 A Design, and Little Green Button attended the event as part of the Tech East Delegation supported by Department for Business and Trade, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils.
They spent the week in the company of world heavyweights in digital communication technology, exploring the future of robotics, AI, 5G, 6G and everything between.
Companies also used the week to create international connections, explore collaborations and to showcase their offer, such as Urban XR’s tech demo and debate on their Panel, alongside Deloitte and Digis Squared. The Norwich-based mixed reality company was one of only two from the UK to make Tech Funding’s list of 10 European Start-ups That Wowed MWC 2023.
The Government is looking to develop and roll out new 5G networks, applications and services for both domestic and global markets. This will create a 5G and digitisation opportunity that could add £173 billion of incremental gross domestic product (GDP) to the UK economy by 2030.
