The New Anglia Careers Hub is arranging several SME Enterprise Days in Suffolk during the Autumn Term. The aim of these events is to help increase students understanding of how vital SMEs are to the local economy and to profile different industry sectors. The Careers Hub is hoping to be supported by SME businesses who may not be currently involved in our work with schools and colleges, to help to support students to find out about different industries and businesses locally, the types of skills needed and how these link to learning and different subjects at school.
A similar event was hosted last year, and SME businesses who attended hosted workshops of approximately 45 minutes, providing students with information on their industry sector, types of career pathways and entry choices, and then facilitated a short activity/task involving the students, with time for feedback and reflection afterwards. Students will rotate round in small groups so they can meet with several different employers throughout the day. The timings of the event are expected to be between 8.30am and 3.00pm.
It would be fantastic if you are an SME and were willing to participate in one or more of these activities. We have created a Microsoft Forms for businesses to use to register their interest which also includes the dates and venues for each event. You can access the form here.
Please also share the details with your SME employer contacts who may be willing to support us with these events. If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the team about the SME Enterprise Days don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected]
