A Norfolk music production company is establishing a library music business that will provide audiovisual products and services to clients around the world.
Just Another Label, based near Diss, is investing in technology to develop a unique search engine and database of music for media, audio mastering, promotional and music videos.
The company’s investment has been supported by a grant from New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growth Through Innovation Fund. The programme, funded by the European Regional Development Fund, offers grants of up to £25,000 to help businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk invest in innovation, research and development.
Femi Olasehinde of Just Another Label said: “Developing this new system will improve our efficiency and make it much easier for our clients. They can see their account details, catalogues and statements in real-time – that wasn’t previously available to them at all.
“There is no system available on the market that can cope with our needs so we’re pleased to be able to access some grant support to develop our own database.
“It gives us access to a huge amount of data which is really valuable to us as a business and it gives us power over our competitors. Automating those processes has also free time for us to focus on other parts of the business.”
He said that working with the New Anglia Growth Hub was straightforward. “I found them really helpful and their support is definitely appreciated.
“The process is straightforward and as we were able to show them a clear plan for our project and what we wanted to do, it was easy to talk through our idea and complete the application.”
Chris Starkie, Chief Executive of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This is a great example of investing in technology to improve productivity and customer service.
“Our Growth Through Innovation Fund supports businesses like Just Another Label which are looking to innovate and grow.”
