A Sudbury-based print and design firm is the first to benefit from a new fund set up to support Norfolk and Suffolk companies to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Indigo Ross has been awarded a grant from New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership’s new Business Resilience and Recovery Scheme.
The £3.5m scheme was launched in late April to support short-term resilience projects and longer-term diversifications.
Indigo Ross offers a full range of design and print services, including graphic design, web design, marketing and printing. The firm wants to purchase two new digital printing presses to be able to print on a wider range of materials, such as bespoke packaging, and to improve productivity.
Phil Roper at Indigo Ross said: “This project is critical to us as the current pandemic brought home the need to become more innovative and productive.
“With this support we can target new markets and become more efficient and better maintain business continuity. As we move into recovery, it will help us to grow existing markets and diversify into a wider range of materials, opening more markets. We can also ensure the employment of operator and finishing staff.”
Chris Starkie, Chief Executive of New Anglia LEP, said: “I’m delighted that our first Business Resilience and Recovery Fund grant has been awarded, just a few weeks after the New Anglia LEP Board approved the new scheme.
“In these challenging times, it’s essential that we move quickly to support businesses, and this is an excellent example of a business looking to become more efficient, drive innovation and diversify at this crucial time.
“I’d encourage any business which is reviewing its processes, considering investing in new equipment or which needs support to reopen to speak to one of our business advisers at the New Anglia Growth Hub.”
