Employers in Norfolk and Suffolk are being encouraged to consider becoming a mentor for Wymondham College students, teaching job-seeking skills and knowledge of various career paths at two upcoming events:

WEDNESDAY 27TH JUNE: YEAR 10 – GET SET FOR SUCCESS CV AND INTERVIEW SKILLS

Following the success of previous years, Wymondham College are again looking for mentors with experience in CV writing and interviews to work with small groups of students to help them prepare for the world of work. They provide a booklet of activities which the mentor guides students through, sharing their own experiences of recruitment and offering a mock interview at the end. Each session lasts for two hours, and mentors can attend in the morning or the afternoon, or both.

TUESDAY 3RD JULY: YEAR 12 – SPEED NETWORKING EVENT, 9am – 11am

This is a new event which the college are organizing for our Year 12 students to introduce them to a range of businesses and organisations, giving them the opportunity to find out about career routes and skills required. Employers will be grouped into zones to enable students to focus on those industries that interest them most. Students will circulate in small groups between organisations, with a free session at the end to re-visit if required. This is a two hour morning session, with breaks and refreshments for employers.

Both events will be supported and supervised by college staff.

If you would like to take part as a mentor or in the speed networking event, or if you have any queries, please contact Elizabeth Edwards, Student Futures Co-ordinator at Wymondham College, at:
