What path did you take to get to your current positon? Somewhat circuitous doing vari-
ous sales and purchase accounts clerk and finance clerk roles

What subjects did you study? History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Maths, Econom-
ics, Music, rt, Sewing

How many jobs have you had, and can you name them? Loads! Head Lad in Stud
Various dministratve roles, Various call centre roles including ssistant Team Leader at
Norwich Union Direct, Hire-controller for plant hire then scaffolding company, Credit
Control clerk/credit control account manager in Utlites company, Ran a dog grooming &
walking business, Ride Ranger in a Cornish dventure park, back to accounts work then
Cost Clerk on Project nvil, then Kier͘

What school subjects link to your career? Maths and English

typical day in your current role looks like: Fairly bonkers. Check emails, receipt any
incoming materials/plant. Ordering or off hiring plant, more emails, administering
tmesheet sofware, occasional meetngs, liaising with the project accountant all the tme. I
use my lunch break to study and submit assignments for my studies.

What skills do you use daily, that you learnt at school? Patence, listening to people, al-
ways learning

What is the number #1 piece of advice you’ve been given that helped you with your
career choice? Do what you love and don’t get trapped in something that makes you miser-
able.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Beter qualificatons for a start. Stll in constructon
though, maybe an office manager positon.

If you could have done anything differently on your career journey, what would it be?
Gone in to the R F. Or different levels, college courses and gone into finance/accountng/
constructon much earlier.
Why do you love your job?
It’s different daily͘ Fairly stressful, never boring and, with the modern
technology that we now have, there is scope to improve all the tme͘
The people that I work with are brilliant too͘
