East of England Energy Group’s flagship Southern North Sea (SNS) conference is the most important event for the energy sector in the East of England.
Taking place over two days at the Norfolk Showground Arena in Norwich, SNS2019 will be the largest conference and exhibition EEEGR has ever delivered attracting upwards of 1100 delegates from across the industry and supply chain.
This year’s conference theme is ‘Industry 4.0’ which refers to the 4th industrial revolution, characterised by a fusion of technologies between the physical, digital and biological. For the energy industry, this means the exploitation of technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robotics, autonomous vehicles/ vessels, big data, networks and the combination of physical and cyber security within day-to-day operations.
The overarching goal is to improve safety, develop efficiencies, produce cost savings, maximize production and promote smarter ways of working to the benefit of the energy industry as a whole. The SNS2019 conference aims to propagate ideas and stimulate debate so that SNS energy producers and the supply chain can take full advantage of the new industrial revolution.
LEP Chief Executive Chris Starkie, said: “Norfolk and Suffolk is the epicentre of the energy sector. There is a tremendous amount of investment and growth taking place which presents huge economic opportunity.
“We’re looking forward to attending the SNS conference where many energy producers and supply chain businesses come together. We will seek this as an opportunity to connect all key groups and decision makers delivering clean growth.”
