Bacton to Walcott Sand-scaping Contract Signed
On 19th February, North Norfolk District Council signed its construction contract with Team Van Oord, a joint venture partnership between Van Oord UK, Kier Group, Mackley and Royal HaskingDHV, with construction of flood defences planned from May to August 2019.

Great Yarmouth Rail Station Forecourt Renovation Complete
Changes to the station forecourt include clearer pedestrian and cycle routes from the station through the Vauxhall Bridge river crossing to the town centre, improved taxi parking, lighting, seating and landscaping. It is hoped the redevelopment will help attract more visitors to the town centre.
Focused Call for New Projects Announced
On 18th of October the LEP announced that £19m was available to a call for new capital projects to boost skills, innovation and productivity in the region.
University Centre Kings Lynn
The centre, which is part of the college of West Anglia, exceeded its target for new learners with a total of 652 being enrolled since its opening in September 2016. The centre was built primarily to offer Higher Education for meeting local and regional needs.
Beccles Southern Relief Road opens
On September 26th, the £5m Beccles Southern Relief Road opened, linking the A145 London Road to Ellough to the south east of the town, providing faster access to Beccles Business Park and the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft Enterprise Zone.
Work begins on £1.5m Thetford roundabout
On September 25th, work began on a £1.5m roundabout on the A1066 at Thetford, which is set to open up land for the proposed Thetford Enterprise Park to create much needed jobs in the town.
Aviation Academy 1st Anniversary
