European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development

When Defra announced LEP area notional EAFRD allocations within the Growth Programme, New Anglia received the second largest allocation of all LEP areas in England – £13m for the period 2014-2020.

The RDPE Operational Programme was agreed with the European Commission in 2015.  The Programme document can be found here.

It should be remembered that the EAFRD component of the Growth Programme is only a very small fraction (5%) of all funding available through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), which also includes investment in environmental and land management schemes, LEADER and Countryside Productivity.  For more information on all RDPE supported programmes, click here.

For funding under the Growth Programme in New Anglia, Defra will manage the process for releasing calls and administering applications.  This will be done using a phased approach from mid-2015 onwards.  For information on any live calls, please click here (tip – use the Funding Source filter to identify EAFRD calls).

Over the course of the programme, funding will be made available under most of the EAFRD ‘Sub-Measures’ in New Anglia.  Defra will define in the call specifications the type of projects being sought and any restrictions that will be applied.

Subject to review, we have provisionally allocated the £13m for New Anglia as follows:

support for investments in processing/marketing and/or development of agricultural products
support for investments on creation and development of non-agricultural activities
small scale recreational and tourism infrastructure and information
(other) co-operation among small operators in organising joint work processes

£ New Anglia
