City Deals are agreements between Government and a city, giving that city greater control over decisions that affect it. It means that the city can decide how public money should be spent in order to help businesses grow and create economic growth.
New Anglia LEP and our local authority partners have negotiated City Deals for both Greater Ipswich and Greater Norwich.
Both deals will help create new jobs, improve the skills of local people and the Greater Norwich Deal will also support infrastructure growth
Ipswich will be using its City Deal to equip local people and businesses with the skills they need to take advantage of the development of new economic opportunities such as Sizewell and Felixstowe.
Greater Norwich will use its City Deal to accelerate the growth, and help unlock the potential of Norwich Research Park, acting as a catalyst to benefit the Greater Norwich area including the Norwich International Airport aviation cluster and city centre digital businesses.
New Anglia LEP is the only LEP to have signed two City Deals for its area.
