A series of free events packed with ideas about how businesses can make savings and contribute to net zero is being launched by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.
Clean Growth for Business returns for a second series during November and will look at everything from how to finance green initiatives to accurately measuring your company’s carbon footprint.
The King’s Centre in Norwich will play host to a half-day, in-person event on 15 November which will feature speakers and finish with a networking lunch.
Speakers will explore the clean energy revolution, how to decarbonise agri-food and land management, the challenges and solutions for the built environment and the need to change the way we think about mobility.
Other events as part of the Clean Growth for Business series will be held virtually.
7 November – Groundwork East kicks the series off by busting some of the myths around climate change language so you can make better informed decisions.
8 November – Businesses can find out about some of the simple things they can do to reduce their carbon footprint in a separate session led by Groundwork East.
9 November – if you are looking for inspiration about where to start on your net zero journey, AMS Consultants will be sharing some real case studies from the region.
14 November – Business owners looking for advice about funding carbon reduction initiatives can register for this green financing webinar hosted by EP Consultancy.
16 November – how to accurately measure your carbon footprint will be the focus of this session led by AMS Consultants.
18 November – improving your environmental and social governance and impact on the supply chain will be explored by EP Consultancy.
Pete Joyner, Chair of the LEP’s Clean Growth Taskforce, said the free events were an ideal opportunity for businesses to get practical advice and inspiration about how to reduce their carbon emissions and make savings in the process.
“Innovation and tech are not the only solutions when it comes to making an impact on your business’s carbon footprint and making ‘green’ decisions can save on your costs in the long run, as well as protecting the environment,” he said.
“Peer-to-peer learning outside of your traditional networks can also provide ideas and result in collaborations you might not have considered. These events are designed to encourage just that, and I would encourage any business to sign up to the sessions which will best meet their needs.”
In the lead-up to COP 26 in November last year, the LEP delivered a package of events and online resources to support businesses on the road to net zero.
