Community renewal fund
New Anglia LEP has secured funding from the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The funding worth £2.2m will be used to deliver two pilot projects through to December 2022 across Norfolk and Suffolk.
The UK Community Renewal Fund aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Road to Net Zero Business Support Programme
Self-employment support
This project will explore self-employment, provide support leading to self-employment or perhaps back into employment.
The project will operate across Norfolk and Suffolk, with a particular focus on disadvantaged communities: there is additional support offered in East Suffolk and in Great Yarmouth.
It will offer crucial self-employment support as businesses emerge from the furlough scheme and many individuals are reconsidering career choices as a result.
The project targets both employed and unemployed people – reaching out to those currently on furlough or who are under-employed and economically vulnerable, as well as to unemployed people.
Partners in the project include New Anglia LEP, Menta, Nwes, East Suffolk Council and Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
